Above in this comment thread: Oracle10G New Features Part II » licensing

Good idea!

Actually, that is a great idea for an article. I have spent lots of time in the past determining what feature was in Oracle Standard Edition and what feature required you to upgrade to Oracle Enterprise Edition. Now that Oracle has Standard Edition One, it is even more confusing. Look for a future blog on this subject. I'll cover the three databases and the management packs.

Thanks for the help!
Chris

Oracle Database 10g Product Family

There's a good white paper from Oracle called "Oracle Database 10g Product Family" and dated Jan. 2004. It was given to me by the Oracle instructor when I took the "Oracle 10g: new features for administrators" to make sure we respect the Oracle licensing. I could not find it online. It explains all the options and all the management packs. It also has a nice table of features and availability. It list the features/options, if they are available in the standard edition and/or the enterprise edition and which ones require an extra cost.
