Large Data Stores in 10G

Sorry about the late response, I think our notifictions may be having some trouble. We currently have a 3 TB warehouse running on 10G. The operating system is AIX Version 5.2. We had to apply the traditional OS patches to ensure that the operating system/DB interact smoothly. But we have to do that on all Oracle releases for most operating systems. Although I will state that there always appears to be more Oracle patches for AIX than other operating systems.

We have not experienced any long shutdowns. There can be many causes that contribute to this depending on the shutdown used. Rolling back data updates from transactions that were terminated, freeing up lots of temporary segments, etc..

We have had 10G R1 running for some time now. Works great for us and we have experienced nothing that could be described as "quirky." Hope this helps.
