In this podcast, Mark also reflects on the Oracle ACE program and how he became one, including how his blog may have played a part. Everyone seems to have a blog these days, and Oracle experts are certainly no exception. Mark tells us that some big-name Oracle bloggers gathered for dinner to exchange ideas this year — kicking off the first, annual Oracle bloggers’ dinner.
He also comments on product announcements, Project Fusion, and his favored keynote speaker. Mark elaborates on the role that OLAP will have in data warehousing, where it fits in, and how you can get the best out it. The OLAP Option for Oracle Database 10g 10.1 is a recent addition to Oracle’s data warehousing capabilities, and gives you the ability to define multidimensional “cubes” of data and store them in special OLAP datatypes.
