SeaCode Update
A quick update on a different sort of outsourcer.
Just about a year ago in this blog (Ship to Shore) I wrote a brief entry about SeaCode - and here is a brief update of what is going on with them. You might remember hearing about them. SeaCode is an "offshore" IT outsourcing company that is setting up business in their own cruise ship three miles off the coast of California.
Computerworld reports this week that the company "hopes to have its financing set this month and has identified a ship with room for 100 programmers -- each with their own private berth."
So, if you are a programmer looking for work - as well as a place to live - you might want to keep your eye on SeaCode as a different and completely novel opportunity.
