New Data Management Portal
Just a short blog entry here to alert readers to a new portal.
There's a new portal in town, and its name is SearchDataManagement. Now there are a lot of data-specific web sites, blog, and portals, but this one is a bit different. It focuses more on the management issues of data than on the technical issues.
The folks who run the site, TechTarget, have told me that plan to focus on the many things that keeps data management professionals "up at night." Some of the issues they will tackle include the challenge of enterprise-wide data sharing, the "data ownership" problem, and how to improve data quality. Actually, they plan to focus on 6 main areas of strategic data management:
